WebOS Software Update – The HP webOS software updates that every PC which the company sells will have the OS.
According to HP CEO Leo Apotheker, webOS software updates into the PC’s that the company sells in the near future probably by 2012.
According to the company, the HP webOS will not just be in tablets and smartphone devices but will soon be in PC’s as well.
The move would mean a change in views of the company which profits more from its hardware sales with 70 percent.
Software sales only contribute to two percent.
The company recently acquired Palm and integrated it into its webOS 2.0 boasting a significant upgrade to its platform.
The webOS will not run on Windows nor will it replace the Windows OS that is in the PCs that the company sells.
Instead the computer would have a dual OS inside it and it leaves much to user preference on what OS will he or she use.
Accordingly, the survival of the OS may be at stake as of the moment with only having 6,000 apps as opposed to that of the iOS which has 350,000 apps available.
Keep posted for more on the webOS software update.
