Star Christina Aguilera

Star Christina Aguilera - Burlesque star Christina Aguilera will join Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine in the upcoming NBC singing competition.

NBC’s new talent show ‘The Voice’ is set to launch its premiere on April 26 and will be hosted by Carson Daly.

Aguilera will sit on the judges’ panel as a TV voice coach who will give the singing hopefuls the best advice.

The superstar also revealed her excitement, saying “to be given the opportunity to help shape new artists’ careers and mentor them to see their dreams come to fruition is a task I welcome with open arms.”

She is very pleased to be working with Green and Levine who also have attained major achievement with their careers in music.

Paul Telegdy, NBC’s executive vice president for alternative programming, said “Christina has a once in a generation talent — her voice is phenomenally distinctive and instantly recognizable.”

The vice president believed that the superstar, who started at young age in the music industry, can help shape new singers.  “Her journey as an artist will be an inspiration to the talent she coaches on the show,” he said.

‘The Voice’ producer Mark Burnett is also positive that Aguilera can be a good mentor. “When I decided to produce ‘The Voice,’ I immediately knew that my first choice for a female coach had to be Christina Aguilera,” said Burnett.

To date, only three Grammy award winners are publicized to be professional coaches.   The fourth one remains a mystery.

The American Idol’s Jennifer Lopez is about to meet her new rival star Christina Aguilera.

Singer Christina Aguilera

Singer Christina Aguilera - Pop Singer Christina Aguilera was arrested by L.A. police for public intoxication along with her boyfriend early morning of March 2.

The Grammy award-winning singer, with her boyfriend Matthew Rutler who was driving the Mustang, was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.

Los Angeles County sheriff spokesman Steve Whitmore said that “She didn’t know where she was, and she didn’t know her own address. We took her into custody for her own protection.”

Whitmore said the ‘misdemeanor arrest’ will remain on Aguilera’s record, but the singer will not be prosecuted because her case merits no criminal intent. The singer was later released after she gave a $US250 bail.

The LA sheriff deputy Bill McSweeney explained that the move for temporary detention is permitted in California.

“California law allows deputies to detain intoxicated people for their own welfare until they sober up, without having any intention of prosecuting them, “told McSweeney.

On the other hand, Aguilera’s 25- year old boyfriend, Rutler was charged with $US5000 bail.

Whitmore revealed that during the field sobriety test, the guy had a blood-alcohol level of 0.09 percent. Said amount is illegal since its law only allows less than 0.08 percent of alcohol for person who does driving.

Reports also said Aguilera’s recent troubles came earlier this year when she blunder the words of the national anthem at the Super Bowl and stumbled on stage during her performance at the Grammys.

After all, pervasive paparazzi are always there to chronicle the flaws of any celebrities, like the famous singer Christina Aguilera.

Frogs Mandibular Teeth

Frogs Mandibular Teeth – A new study says that the frog’s mandibular teeth have re-evolved after an absence of 200 million years.

While most frogs have teeth on their upper jaws, certain type of marsupial tree frog is said to regain its lower-jaw teeth nearly 20 million years ago.

Dr. John Wiens, professor in the Department of Ecology and Evolution at Stony Brook University, confirmed the idea after he analyzed DNA samples of modern and fossilized frogs to estimate the dates of loss and re-evolution of their teeth.

In his analysis, he found out that the common ancestor of frogs originally had lower-jaw teeth but eventually lost them more than 230 million years ago. However, their teeth re-appeared in one frog species known as Gastrotheca guentheri.

The latest idea contradicted Dollo’s Law, a theory which states that when a physical trait is lost in a species, it never reappears in the next evolution period.

Other scientists even indicated that Dollo’s beliefs were in contrary to the already occurring process in the wings in stick insects, coiling in snail shells, and fingers and toes in lizards. Such species have exhibited re-evolution of their lost physical structures.

Gastrotheca guentheri , which can be found in Ecuador and Colombia, is a frog species wherein females use their pouch in the back to carry their eggs. It is the only identified modern frog species having lower-jaw teeth.

Dollo’s law is rather invalid in today’s time, as some evolutionary biologists already established more precise theories on the re-evolution of frog’s mandibular teeth.
